The Telfer Gallery Residency (Glasgow)

Call for Proposals 2014

Residencies/exhibitions will run between February and December 2014. Applicants from all creative disciplines are welcome to apply.
 
The Telfer Gallery provides a platform for focused experimentation as well as a space for artists to explore and expand their practice. Each selected individual or group will be offered a period of residency in the space preceding an exhibition, which will be arranged in conversation with the committee.
The Telfer Gallery will provide the following:

• A 60 square metre gallery space
• 24-hour access to gallery space
• A support network encompassing two project managers, gallery committee, and the surrounding 31 artist studios placed within the building
• Marketing and promotion of events including printed materials
• Optional discussion groups and critical development workshops
• Technical and installation support

• CV: (1 A4 Page, including links to any websites or blogs)
• Portfolio: 5 Jpegs (including the information: title, medium, dimensions, date), or 5 minute film/showreel (links preferred, attachments also accepted), or 500 word additional text. Or a combination, or similar amount in alternative formats.

Residency: Merge Worlds of Forensics and Art (Scotland)

Open Call for Residency Applications

As part of the inaugural Print Festival Scotland, the University of Abertay Dundee and the art collective Yuck 'n Yum are teaming up to offer an artist-in-residency opportunity within the university’s ground-breaking forensic science department.

Working in collaboration with forensic scientist Dr Kevin Farrugia, the selected artist will get to spend up to four days in Abertay’s forensics labs, exploring the ways print visualization techniques can be manipulated to recover finger- and shoeprints from crime scenes.

Proposals for the residency are welcomed from artists the world over, and there are no limitations as to what form the proposal should take: artists may already be involved in a print-based discipline, but could, equally, specialize in anything from sound installations to technology-driven art.

At the end of the residency, the artist will have the opportunity to exhibit their finished artwork at the inaugural Print Festival Scotland, which will run alongside the acclaimed Impact 8 International Printmaking Conference in Dundee this autumn.
