(PROJECTS Scholarships for Young Artists)
Three Braunschweig PROJECTS Scholarships are available for artists of Sound Art. And five Braunschweig PROJECTS Scholarships for artists of Fine Arts are also available. These scholarships are part of the promotion programme for artists of the Braunschweig University of Art and the State of Lower Saxony. This programme is aimed at young artists who are interested in working intensively on artistic projects in the close environment of an art university.

SZPILMAN AWARD
Call for Artists to Apply
The SZPILMAN AWARD is awarded to works that exist only for a moment or a short period of time. The purpose of the award is to promote such works whose forms consist of ephemeral situations.
Everyone can apply. Worldwide!
There is no participation fee.
Closing date: September 30, 2013 (postmark)
The prize winner receives the Jackpot Stipendium.
This scholarship consists of three parts: A challenge cup, 10 days of accommodation in Cimochowizna (Poland) including journey, and a sum of money in cash.
The amount of money is dynamic. SZPILMAN is raising money parallel to the competition.
The prize winner receives the money that is raised until September 30, 2013 and you can keep tabs on the amount raised here: www.award.szpilman.de/jackpot.

Scholarships to the 2013 Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts
Call for Applications
The 2013 Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts presented by TransCultural Exchange will take place in Boston on October 10–13, 2013. This four-day event brings together curators, galleries, funders, critics, artist-in-residency directors and artists from around the world for a unique cross-disciplinary platform to network, showcase, support and promote artists' work.
Full and partial scholarships to the 2013 Conference are based solely on need. Only those making an annual, adjusted gross income of $25,000 or less are eligible to apply.
To apply, please send a letter (no longer than 1 page) with:
1. the amount of your 2011 adjusted gross income (as entered on line 37 of your 2011 Federal Tax form; not your Schedule C), including a statement testifying that this amount is true and accurate.
2. the reason why you would like to attend this Conference and
3. why the full registration cost to this Conference is beyond your current financial means.
Letters must be received (not postmarked) by April 1, 2013.

Aims and objectives:
Artists’ residence Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral in Bad Ems, Foundation for Culture of Rhineland-Palatinate, which was founded in 1995, is a place of reflection, artistic production, discussion and meeting. It supports visual artists from the disciplines of painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, graphic arts, design, photography, video as well as from new media and landscape art from all over the world by awarding artists-in-residence scholarships. Eligibility:
- Eligible to apply for a Balmoral scholarship are international visual artists of any age.
- The preconditions are a completed course of study in art (M.F.A. or comparable) and three years of continuous artistic work after the conclusion of studies until the beginning of the fellowship. Applications are also possible for autodidacts distinguished by special artistic achievements, as documented by exhibitions and prizes.
- To foster artistic dialog and interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge of German, English, or French is expected.
Scholarships:
- The scholarships are endowed with 1,200 € a month.
- Two scholarships are awarded for the period of three months. The yearly term of residence for the three-month scholarships begins in March.
- Seven scholarships are awarded for the period of six months. For the six-month scholarships the yearly term of residence begins in June.

Grant: OCA calls for applications 2011
Applications are accepted from Norwegian and international artists living and working in Norway to produce work for exhibitions internationally; Norwegian art professionals organising exhibitions and projects abroad; and international institutions and curators to work more comprehensively and thoroughly with artists, art groups and professionals from Norway.
Projects may include exhibitions, catalogues and other activities directly related to these areas.
OCA offers financial support enabling non-profit international institutions and international curators to place Norwegian artists, curators and critics within professional exhibitions and contexts. OCA accepts applications on four deadlines throughout the year: 15 February, 15 May, 15 September and 1 November.

WHAT: Rave Scholarships for Curators, Restorers, Museum Technicians and Cultural Managers
WHERE: Stuttgart, Germany

WHO: Curators, restorers, museum technicians, and cultural managers from developing countries
The Rave Scholarships contribute to further practical training in arranging and realizing exhibitions. These scholarships are being awarded to curators, restorers, museum technicians and culture managers from countries in transition and developing countries.
Benefits:
• A monthly lump sum of 1,300 euros for a scholarship period of three to six months
• Traveling expenses (to and from Germany)
• Married person's supplement if the spouse is present in Germany
• Assistance with health insurance (also for spouses)
• German course (participation in a language course is expected)
.
Conditions:
• Applicant must be from a country in transition or a developing country
• Hitherto no opportunity yet to work in Germany for an extended period of time
• Knowledge of either German or English. Basic Knowledge of German expected.
• Younger than 40 years old
• Completion of professional study or training within the last five years
• Applicant must no longer be studying or involved in on-the-job training
• Confirmation (in German) from a partner institution in Germany which has agreed to take on or initiate a joint project
• A reference from the applicant’s country of origin
• Applicants who are not accepted cannot re-apply
.
Selection procedure:
• The Rave Foundation committee will assess all applications
• There is no recourse to legal action regarding the awarding of a scholarship
• Applicants will be informed in writing about whether their application was successful or not. No reasons will be given for the committee’s decision
.
Application documents:
• CV (max. 2 pages), including educational qualifications
• Outline of the planned project in Germany (max. 1 page)
• Consent (in German) from a non-commercial German institution in which the applicant will work during the scholarship period in Germany
• A letter of reference from the applicant's home country
• An abridged report (max. 2 pages) on the current state of the arts scene in the home country
.
Application date for scholarships in 2011 is 30 September 2010. Selections will be made within 2 months. Applications may be sent via e-mail or post. Should the application be sent via e-mail the original letter of consent and the original letter of reference should still be handed in by post later.
