Call for Art Works

TransCultural Exchange is celebrating its 20th anniversary October 24, 2009 with a gala cocktail party, dance and auction at the French Library Alliance Francaise, located in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood.

We are looking for artists to donate small-scale art work in the form of a postcard (4” x 6”) to offer for sale to our guests throughout the evening. All works submitted will be exhibited at the Alliance Francaise’s gallery that evening; and any artist who donates a work is eligible for a reduced priced ticket ($25) to the gala, which includes 2 free drink tickets. (Tickets can be purchased at the door.)

All the artists’ names also will be listed at the gallery and on our website’s sponsorship page, where we are also happy to include your website as well.

Please note: All artworks will be offered for $35. Works should only be signed on the back, along with your contact information and, if available, website. Our goal is to offer everyone a chance to afford a fabulous work of art that is as playful in its format as it is mysterious in its creation. Thus the identity of the creator will only revealed after purchased, which is why no work can be exhibited that is signed on the front.

All unsold works will be kept by TransCultural Exchange to offer for re-sale at its next event. Proceeds from the sales of the art works will be set aside for scholarships to the 2011 Conference on International Opportunities in the Art: The Interconnected World.

For publicity purposes all works must be received (not postmarked) by September 20, 2009.
Please send your work (only one work per artist) to
