MAINE MEDIA WORKSHOPS DREAMS COMPETITION

Call for Entries

Open to Film, Photo, and Writing submissions; $9000 in prizes.

For centuries and across cultures, artists have represented the world as it may be envisioned through ephemeral images of inner visions, fantasies, mysteries and the unreal. This contest is an opportunity for our international community of photographers, filmmakers and writers of all ages to present their representations of dreams to a distinguished panel of judges. Judges include: Beth Einhorn, Writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno; Tom Wilhite, President and co-founder of Hyperion Pictures; Sharon Creech, Newbury Award-winning author. 

Early submission discount for submissions fees is August 15, 2013 and entry deadline is September 27, 2013.

International Kontinent Photography Awards, the prestigious photography competition is now open for entries. Awards aim to honor best photographers in the world of photography and provide them global recognation and new opportunities.

The Open Photo Contest

Call for Submissions

The Open is a worldwide search for the greatest photographers of our generation. It features both online and live events and delivers one of the largest prize purses in the photo industry. The Open is designed from the ground up to generate widespread exposure and business-building opportunities for photographers. It also connects directly with 50,000 creative industry professionals from North America, Europe, Latin America and Australia – art directors to photo editors and publishers to ad agencies – who tap into The Open to discover new talent. Photographers can also sell gallery quality prints through FotoMoto on their Artist’s Page on The Open.

The Open is comprised of five categories (Action, Street, Nature, People, Open) and two separate events:
1. SOLO: An online competition gallery of single images, where half of the finalists are selected by an expert panel of judges and the other half are driven by public voting, fueled by the major social media platforms.
2. LIVE: A mind-blowing live competition in which 6 invited photographers choreograph the best images of their careers into 7-minute productions. The LIVE event takes place on September 28, 2012 in Vancouver, Canada.

Eligibility: True to its name, The Open welcomes all photographers worldwide.

Prize: The Open delivers one of the largest cash prize purses in photo history: $50,000US. $25,000US for the SOLO competition, $25,000 for the LIVE competition.

Call for entries VIPA 2012 (Vienna)

Open Call for Documentary Photography

KUNSTNETZWERK (modern contemporary art gallery), Raed Bawayah (photographer), in collaboration with « Eyes-On » European Month of Photography Vienna, are pleased to announce the Open Call # 1st edition of the Vienna International Photographic Awards « VIPA 2012 » for documentary photography.
Participation is open to professional, non-professional and student photographers from any country. Submission must be a single photo or a series, which focus on documentary photo-reportages such as social, cultural, political or environmental issues.
Besides the total value of 7,000 EUR in money prizes the short-listed winners will be published in the VIPA’s official catalogue. The 3 finalists will take part in a group exhibition in November 2012 in Vienna (during the European Month of Photography). The awards will be divided into three sections: 1st prize (4,000 EUR), 2nd prize (2,000 EUR) and 3rd prize (1,000 EUR). The awards ceremony and the group exhibition opening will be held on the November 15, 2012 in Vienna.
