Nanji Residency (Korea)

Residency Opportunity

Nanji Art Studio, a creative workplace and international artist residency for young artists, is an operation of the Seoul Museum of Art. SeMA and Nanji Art Studio strive to provide support in every possible wat to make this studio an incubator for talented artists worldwide.

The SeMA opened the Nanji Art Studio on April 6, 2006 after the unused facilities on Nanjido Islandwere remodeled. The location was born again as an eco-park for the residents ofSeoul. The studio has been serving as a creative workplace for young artists.

The Nanji Art Studio is situated inside Worldcup Park in Nanjido and is surrounded by a calm atmosphere and glorious view over Han-gang river. Residents enjoy private-use studios (cooking and sleeping is possible), outside workshop for shared-use, and convenience facilities including a lounge, bathroom and laundry. Residents must bring their own personal computers.

Major Programs:
- Creative Activities: open studios, resident art exhibitions, workshops, lectures and seminars
- Public Programs: sculpture garden exhibitions, artist talks

Eligibility: Professional artists working actively at home or abroad (current or previous resident artists are ineligible)
