Residency at Galeria In The Garden in Bulgaria

Galeria In the Garden is a unique place in the city of Plovdiv (Bulgaria) - one of the oldest cities in the world with more than 200 archeological sites dating from 6 000 years starting with neolithic settlement, ancient greek and Roman monuments ... Plovdiv has strong art tradition and is called the city of artists. There are three secondary art schools and art academy.

Galeria in The Garden offers residencies to artists from all disciplines - visual arts, sculpture, new media and performing arts, architecture, textile, music, literature, to art historians and working in educational programs, social workers or researchers. It accepts applications from individuals and small collaborative groups, both established and young artists at the beginning of their careers. Accommodation for up to 4 artists at a time (doubled if sharing room). Work can either be done in the studio or outside in the garden. Three appartments provide excellent living and working accommodation for a period of up to 2 months (longer residencies by arrangement). Lodging in 3 new build spacious appartments two of them distributed around a landscaped garden and one in the city center on walking distance to old city and main antic monuments. Facilities include large bedroom, sitting area, kitchenette, bathroom/WC and outdoor spaces (for garden apartments.)

Fees charged by weekend E150, week- E240, month – E820. However, we are open to discuss some ways to lower the fees. The residency fee includes: accommodation in a double room, electricity (exept december – march), water, heating/cooling, and final cleaning. All other expenses are not included. Each participant is responsible for travel and living expenses, materials and equipment, insurance. Artists could come with spouses/family. Additional person E50.00/per week. Free wireless internet, bottle of mineral water daily, complimentary bottle of wine and organic season fruits weekly.
