WINSPORT CANADA®

Eligibility: Open to all interested Canadian artists.
Description: The Canadian Winter Sport Institute (WinSport Canada) is seeking expressions of interest from qualified artists or artist teams who are passionate about exploring the link between sport and art in a new world-class, multi-purpose and high performance sport venue.
WinSport Canada is able to provide the opportunity for an artist to create two site specific works of art to be located centrally within the complex, immediately adjoining the main gathering space. The artist or artist team selected for this project will have experience in creating dynamic, inspiring and national pride inducing works for public spaces. This is a prime, unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a landmark piece that combines art and sport, engaging and inspiring thousands of athletes, coaches and visitors from around the world and right here at home.
Budget: $149,200.00. This all-inclusive budget must include all travel, accommodation and related expenses as well as all completed artworks.
WinSport will short list three artists who will be paid a $2000 honorarium to create a concept, model and rendering. The chosen artist will be contracted by end of April 2012.)

ARTISTIC CREATION IN RELATION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SCHOOL, CHILDREN’S PLAY AREA, AND LANDSCAPING OF A PUBLIC PARK

Eligibility: This invitation is open to all artists, irrespective of nationality or age.

Description: The Contemporary Art Fund of the City of Geneva (FMAC) is launching a call for applications to create an artistic work in the context of the construction of a school and public complex comprising a school, with a gymnastics room and a swimming pool, a children’s play area, a multi-purpose room and high quality public spaces (completion at the end of the summer break 2015). Artists wishing to respond to the call for applications are required to register by downloading the documents relating to the competition on

LANCASTER, PA - BUREAU OF PUBLIC ART

Budget: $55,000

Description: The Bureau of Public Art seeks to commission a qualified artist/team to create an original work of art that will be permanently installed outdoors and integrated in a renovated public park. A pool of fifteen (15) qualified artists will be developed from the applicants and presented to the client, stakeholders, and city officials.
Three (3) finalists will be invited to submit a formal proposal for the commission. A $1,500.00 stipend for each finalist will be provided.

PATTERSON FOUNDATION - U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS
Deadline: up to January 20, 2012. Rolling DL-submit earlier if possible.

Description: National Cemetery contemporary art The Patterson Foundation is providing the
design and construction of the assembly area at the Sarasota National Cemetery as a donation to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs - National Cemetery Administration. In addition to the many features unique to national cemeteries, there will be a significant installation of contemporary art related to themes of military service and the families of soldiers.
The Patterson Foundation seeks professional artists with significant experience and a body of work at a recognizably high level who are interested in creating art on the themes of soldiers, veterans and their families.
All sites are exterior and subject to the extremes of Florida climate. This is not a memorial space and all of the art does not have to be realistic. Contemporary vocabularies and approaches are welcome.

D) TEMPORARY PUBLIC ART AND EXHIBITIONS

PHOTO NIGHTS BOSTON - Public Art Call to Photographers
Deadline: Friday, February 3, 2012
Location: Boston, MA
Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years of age or older with no geographic restriction.
Description: Boston is one of the few urban centers in the United States whose historic buildings share equal space and prominence with more modern constructions within the city. Photo Nights Boston seeks to draw attention to these landmark buildings with large-scale outdoor projections. As part of Photo Nights Boston’s October 2012 public art event, an artist will be selected to
design and produce a photography-based work of public art as a focal point for the program.
Budget: Finalists will receive a $1,000 proposal development fee. The project budget is $10,000.

BOSTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS TEMPORARY PUBLIC ART - CALL FOR ENTRIES - OCCUPY 539

Description: The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is pleased to announce a call for applications for Occupy 539, a unique platform for artists to engage with audience through public art projects that explore ways in which people congregate, occupy and linger in public spaces. SCULPTURENOW 2012

Description: SculptureNow is currently accepting proposals from established and emerging artists for SculptureNow in Lenox 2012, a juried exhibition of large, outdoor sculpture in Lenox, Massachusetts. The exhibition will run from June 9–October 28, 2012. Existing or new sculptures are accepted, and innovative works are encouraged. SculptureNow is well established as a
significant venue and destination point for sculpture exhibitions, entering its 14th year of presenting sculpture by regional, national and international artists, and committed to encourage appreciation of contemporary art through educational programs.
