CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) in Taiwan aims to promote cross-cultural exchanges by providing a meeting point for creative talents from national and international art related fields, for short stay or specific projects.

Since 2009, Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) has launched an “Emerging Artist Program”. It aims to provide times and spaces for creative talents to do experimental works, outreach projects, collaborations or research. We will provide six artists with either a free studio or accommodation space for up to one month.

We especially welcome applicants working with:
• cross discipline arts,
• ecology and environment,
• community engagement projects

Application period
Now until 31 October, 2011

Who can apply
• artist / curator / researcher / culture worker/ arts professional
• open for all age, gender, media, and nationality

How to apply
Please send the following materials to opencall2012@bambooculture.com
• Application Form (see below)
• Project plan within one page of A4
• Outreach plan
• Resume and portfolio (link or website)
• Name and contact information of one reference person/organization from your country.

Note:
• Please state “Emerging Artists Program 2012” on your email subject.
• Reminder that all supporting hardcopy materials will not be returned.

Procedure
The jury committee is scheduled in November. The final result will be sent to the applicants in early December 2011.

What you need to cover
• Project/Material fee, travel and living costs
• The living cost in Taiwan is about 500 USD per month

Program requirements
To participate in the residency program, applicants are required to
• Cooperate with our team for publicity and other activities relate to the promotion of your program
• Write a brief report (one to two pages of A4), 10 images and feedback to us within one month from your departure.
