Help us make the impossible possible; dreams a reality; strangers, neighbors. TransCultural Exchange’s mission is to bridge cultural, geographic, political and linguistic divides by bringing people together through a common language—the arts—in order to foster a greater understanding of world cultures.

Our latest project "Here, There and Everywhere: The Art of Collaboration" asks artists to work with people from different cultures and disciplines to create collaborative art works. From a Boston sculptor working with a Swedish geneticist; two Greek artists creating a public kiosk as a site for noncommercial exchange; and a group of English artists collecting travelers for a curated dialog on a train, "Here, There and Everywhere" aims to bring people together, open new paths for discourse and touch that which is human in us all. As a tribute to this extraordinary group of artists’ efforts to reach out to others, we are looking to raise $4500 (to match a grant) for printing a catalogue documenting these inspiring stories and works.
The full-color catalogue will be printed in December 2010 (and available in spring 2011) as a series of booklets, housed in a handsome, limited edition box. By using Kickstarter to help raise money for the printing costs, we hope to engage, reach out and include, not only the artists who agreed to take on this project, but you as well. By adding more participants—by adding you—our message of constructive engagement with others will gain momentum. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone contributed? That is our hope.

Not only will your funding go to this noteworthy cause for the arts, but the Internal Revenue Service recognizes TransCultural Exchange as a tax-exempt non-profit organization under Section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Thus, contributions to the organization are deductible to the maximum extent provided by law. In keeping with the Internal Revenue Service requirements, we will send you a letter that will serve as your official receipt for tax purposes, which you should retain for your records.
