Artist in Residence - Norway

The Nordic Artists’ Centre in Dale
nkd - is a Nordic institution supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Church affairs. The centre is situated in a beautiful natural setting on the west-coast of Norway about 150 KM north from Bergen. The nkd organizes seminars, workshops and various other activities and runs an artist-in-residence program for Nordic and international artists focusing on visual culture including design and architecture.

Applications are assessed on the basis of a specific proposal and the quality of work and experience. Proposals in all three programs should include a plan for the use of the studio over the three-six month period (4-6 weeks for groups and researchers).

Call for Proposals



DISONANCIAS   announces a call for proposals from international artists to develop,  in collaboration with a team, a prototype, procedure or idea based on a framework predefined by one of the participating entities: either companies (BULTZAKI, EZARRI, PROIEK, SEGUROS LAGUN ARO), public organisations (Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, EiTB) or universities (Tecnológico Fundación Deusto, Mondragón Unibertsitatea).
Deadline for applications: 7 July 2008, 9 am (local time).
Collaboration period: from 15 October 2008 to 15 July 2009 (9 months).
Fields of research: mainly associated with urban dynamics, creative environments, technologies (data visualisation) and materials (glass, wire).

Paris Artist in Residence Program

Récollets International Accommodation and Exchange Centre

The City of Paris and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs offer foreign artists a resident's programme at the Récollets International Accommodation and Exchange Centre, a prestigious building inaugurated in 2003, on the banks of Saint Martin Canal, in the heart of Paris, to foreign artists specialized in any discipline.

This programme is targeted to confirmed writers and artists who will be selected by a board of examiners on the basis of a project they would like to develop in Paris during their stay. This project can be carried out at the invitation of a Paris art institution within the framework of a programme of cultural cooperation or as a personal artistic research approach.

Deadline for applications: June 15, 2008.

Raumars Artist-in-Residence Programme

Artist- in-Residence Program

The aim of the programme is to bring the art world and the community closer to each other. The visiting artists are expected to craete innovative links between art and people. They can produce their projects in schools, day-care centres, homes for elderly or, for example, in local working environments.

The city of Rauma is situated on the West coast of Finland, approx. 97 kilometers north from the city of Turku. Rauma has about 38.5000 inhabitants and the area of Old Rauma is one of Unesco's World Heritage Sites. By train: Tampere-Rauma, by plain: Pori Airport (distance 50 km).
